Looking Back...
20 years goes by in a flash, as any parent knows. I watched the years fly by through my daughter, beginning with the excitement of someone new in my life, and culminating in the launch of a new contributing member of society, helpful, loving, and welcoming to others. Maybe my daughter wouldn’t appreciate the analogy, but parenthood is a little like starting a new business venture. For me, the joy, fun, and adventure of starting Connector Supplier was renewed each day as I connected with new products, readers, and suppliers. We started 20 years ago as a monthly issue with content developed by knowledgeable market directors from Bishop & Associates. We chronicled the development of the interconnect industry with wonderful connector suppliers who supported our efforts. As the years passed, the connector industry grew in tandem with the evolution of the digital era. We expanded our coverage to include cable assemblies, and later, antennas and sensors. We acquired Connector Specifier and further developed its Product Showcase into an exclusive advertiser-driven newsletter. Connector Supplier became weekly, we added additional exclusive options, and our website grew into a valuable industry resource and archive of interconnect knowledge. Connector Supplier grew up and grew into something so much more, stepping out into the world with our talented team led by John Bishop.
